Dear Members of CCEURO,
I would like to draw your attention to the following request.
Circular Letter CL 2015/21-CAC has asked for Codex Members feedback on the extent of adoption of Codex texts on Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR), any gaps or challenges in their implementation, the need to update these texts and areas where expert scientific advice may be needed.
As discussed at CCEXEC, the Codex Secretariat, in collaboration with FAO and WHO, will analyse the replies to the Circular Letter and prepare proposals as appropriate for consideration at the next session of the Commission.
Unfortunately the response to date has been limited. The Codex Secretariat is now considering extending the deadline (currently 31 December 2015) to mid-January. In order to make the analysis more significant and representative of the different regions, they need to receive an adequate number of replies form all regions. Therefore, we would solicit countries that have not replied yet to the Circular Letter to do so.
Thanking you in advance, best regards,
Dear CCEURO members,
With the Codex Alimentarius Commission in Geneva just concluded, we like to draw your attention to the FAO/WHO regional workshop on Codex with focus on microbiological food safety that is to be held in St. Petersburg on 17-18 September 2015.
The information note with logistic information for participants can be found here.
The workshop is funded by the FAO/WHO Codex Trust Fund and the Government of the Russian Federation. All CCEURO countries are invited to participate. Attached are the Concept Note and the preliminary programmes in the English and Russian language. The information about countries that will have their travel costs funded by the CTF is detailed in the Concept Note.
Colleagues who plan to participate on self-funded basis should inform Dr Eleonora Dupouy (Eleonora.Dupouy@fao.org) with a copy to Dr Hilde Kruse (HIK@euro.who.int) and Mr Nikolay Balan (Balan_NG@gsen.ru) about their participation for organizing the necessary support with visa application for the Russian Federation and hotel booking in Saint Petersburg.
You are kindly requested to notify your participation in any case before 15 August 2015.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if additional clarification would be necessary.
Dear CCEURO-members and followers,
Please find here the Draft Strategic Plan for CCEURO with informal comments in English:
30.6.2014: Dear CCEURO colleagues,
I would like to invite you to the CCEURO coordination meeting for the 37th Codex Alimentarius Commission.
This meeting will take place on Monday 14 July 2014 at 9:00 in room 15 (level -1) at the International Conference Centre in Geneva.
Further I would like to draw your attention to an invitation from the Chair Mr Sanjay Dave for a Pre CAC meeting:
Dear Dr Martijn Weijtens,
As we move towards the 37th Session of the CAC, it is important to have a closer interaction with the different regions. As the Chair of the Commission, I consider it appropriate to personally meet colleagues from all the regions to understand the current and future priorities of each region as well as concerns, if any, particularly in respect of those issues that are coming up at the forthcoming CAC Session in July 2014. The Vice-Chairs will also be joining these meetings.
I, therefore, suggest that we may meet one day before start of the CAC Session so that we can keep the specific issues of interest to the CCEuro region in mind while we deliberate the agenda items during the plenary. We would indeed be honoured to meet you and other members from the CCEuro region on Sunday (13th July, 2014) and suggest about an hour of discussion from 04:00 to 05:00 pm at Hotel Intercontinental, 7-9 Chemin du Petit Saconnex, CH-1209 Genève (Phone: +41-22-919.3939). The hotel is at a walking distance from the CICG complex.
Please let me know of the interest and also confirm if the proposed timing and place is convenient to the members of your region.
Warm regards from India.
Codex Alimentarius Commission
I encourage you all to join this meeting.
29.03.2014: CCEURO Coordination during CCGP (April 7th)
To all CCEURO-members
We like to inform you that at the CCGP in Paris on Monday April 7th a CCEURO coordination meeting for the preparation of the CCGP will take place at 09.15 -10.00 am. The location is the following:
Room Bloch-Lainé (1st floor)
Ministère de l'Economie et des Finances
139, rue de Bercy
During the FAO-CCEURO Regional Consultation on strengthening capacities for food safety risk analysis and enhancing participation in Codex work last september in Poland, one of the proposals (see Report at 6.1 and 6.2) was to set up two informal electronic working groups:
A: on the Draft Strategic Plan for the European Region and
B: on Twinning activitites
We will now make an inventory of interest to participate in these working groups, in order to get started.
The electronic working group A on the Draft Strategic Plan will continue with the first draft as presented during the Regional Consultation.
For the electronic working group B on Twinning activities, a first draft document will be ready in a few weeks time.
Goal of the electronic working groups is to have two new documents to discuss and, if possible, agree on during the next CCEURO-meeting in The Hague, Netherlands (30 September-3 October 2014).
So would you please indicate in which working group you are interested to participate and send your reply to email@example.com before February 10th, 2014.
